Archaeological site of Nora

The archaeological site of Nora is lacated on the south-western coast of Sardinia in Pula (in the province of Cagliari), a city that is remembered in literary sources as the oldest on the island. Its strategic position has favored its growth over the centuries, from the Phoenician, Punic and Roman times, up to the high medieval town. The current state of conservation of the archaeological complex is relatively good, so much so that among the buildings left standing over the centuries we find the Roman theater, which is still used today for various cultural activities. Floor mosaics, ceramic finds and furnishings, road paving, historic buildings, stratigraphic investigations and excavations still in progress, make the site of Nora one of the most active and interesting in southern Sardinia.
